OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITES STATES OF AMERICA.

The Honorable Barack Obama.
President of the United States.

Dear Mr. President,

I would like to take a few minutes of your precious time to consult with you about a very important matter to our nation and especially to four states of the Union. This is regarding the disastrous consequences of the British Petroleum Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico and our commitment to demonstrate, at our cost, an advanced new Italian technology that will safely and ecologically decontaminate the affected areas.

We know that you and the government are dedicating all the attention to this important matter, implementing the necessary technologies and resources to mitigate the damage, and at the same time we understand that the BP executives are working around the clock to impede further damage to the Gulf of Mexico and the population in the four states affected. We the citizens of this country thank you, the government, and BP for the tremendous effort to somehow correct the problem.

But the reality expressed by the experts is different and this tragedy will impact even further if we don’t take serious additional steps to diminish the damage. As you may already know, the damage to the marine life and the coast, plus the economic impact to millions of citizens in the four states, will pale compared to the severe health consequences that the acid rain may produce to the population due to the evaporation of the contaminated waters in the Gulf of Mexico.

Taking all of this into consideration and with the only objective to help my country, I would like to kindly propose to you, the government and the BP executives, a new technology from Italy that will ecologically decontaminate, in a large percentage, the water and sand in the affected areas without further damaging the environment. If you or the agency in charge allows us to do a proven demonstration, we are ready and willing to pay the full cost of the test, a few hundred of thousands of dollars, as a contribution to our nation and the State of Florida where we live.

We understand that you and the agencies in charge may have received hundreds of letters with different technologies and all kind of propositions, but we are not asking you to believe in this technology at the moment, we are only requesting you to give us the opportunity to prove this technology works at no cost for the well being of our nation.

As is known, from the May 3, 2010, I had been working on the serious problem that welcomes us in relation to the pollution in our coasts due to the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico this year. Since that date, I been sending letters to both, the President of the United States and to all those governors in the states involved.

Personally, I believe that we cannot continue waiting for the bureaucratic processes without immediate results. (As our habitat and economy are destroyed). The SB1070 law proclaimed by the governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, on April 23, 2010 took effect on July 29th 2010.

For Washington, immigration issues are the sole responsibility of the federal government, and local laws cannot override federal laws. On behalf of the Federal Government and her answer concerning this law, the judge, Susan Bolton rightly demonstrated responsibility of the federal government enforcing immigration laws in this country. However, in reality the context of this Law, has given other states the ability to try to imitate similar laws such as i.e. Florida.

July 29th will go down in history as a day that persecution over immigration will be carried forward with the pretext of legality, but actually racism is the main issue to overcome.

It is a disgrace in this country that preaching the values and respect will allow the state of Arizona to persecute and mistreat those involved in any type of discrimination related to race, color, religion, and ethnicity. The same governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, signed another law that prohibits the school system to uphold among members of any ethnic group; especially to those targeted primarily to students of a particular racial group, as well as promoting resentment towards others particular groups.

In this state, they expel school children a little over a month before finishing the school year; over one hundred students will abandon school due to controversial measures taken by Arizona’s Governor, included in the anti-immigrant legislation, and enforced by the Department of Education of the state.

I would like to remind you all the damage done to the humanity during Second World War (THE HOLOCAUST). Today, in the 21st century, Arizona legislation is chasing the unprotected groups. Therefore, destroying all families including children unable to finish school.

Recall that Abraham Lincoln was the president during the civil war granting African-American their freedom. Since then, what have we learned? If history repeating itself? How far are we gotten?.

Our national security, our economic recovery and the future of the United States of America and indeed the future of human civilization depends on our country taking leadership. And that, in turn, depends on the United States Senate acting.

This is sending a clear message that a state passed such a heinous law, and any consciences person in this country have a moral obligation to speak about. The mere existence of what I believe in, all human are created equal, this is the foundation of our nation.

TRUE. Bed bugs are most active in the early morning hours when humans are normally in their deepest sleep. A blood meal usually lasts around 10-15 minutes.

4. Bed bugs are only found on mattresses and bedding.
FALSE. Bed bugs hide in cracks and crevices of a structure, inside wall cavities, on walls and ceilings, under carpeting, in other upholstered furniture, even in electric outlets and within electronics. Mattresses are closest to their meals, so they are often found there.

5. Pesticides are the most effective way to kill bed bugs.
FALSE. Thermal Desorption Process:

Thermal desorption is a technology that utilizes heat to increase the volatility of organic contamination (hydrocarbon) such that they can be separated from the soil.

AIR EMISSIONS:
The pollutants resulted are drawn to an afterburner chamber. What comes out from that are just harmless substances. Through a system of continuous detection (FID) air emissions are always checked to ensure compliance with the limits of laws. Anyway, what comes out from the chimney is just water vapor, CO2, CO and some oxide of substances like sulfur and nitrogen. The on line control allows us to keep checked the situation and act quickly if necessary.

SECURITY SYSTEM:
All of the parts of the plant for thermal desorption are made following the ATEX directives. ATEX is the conventional name of Directive 94/9/EC of the European Union for the regulation of equipment intended for use in hazardous areas. The name comes from the words and Atmospheres Exposable.
Methane is a lesser risks fuel than other liquid fuels.

ATLANTA – Hardin Construction Company’s sustainability portfolio includes nearly 20 LEED-certified projects, but none of them has quite lit up the green-o-meter like the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Green Expansion The Garden’s new visitor center and parking deck received Gold LEED certification. Hardin served as general contractor on project.

The Garden’s innovative expansion project earned recognition from the nation’s leading evaluator of environmentally sustainable buildings, and is generating kudos for its abundant environmentally friendly amenities.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) awarded LEED Gold certification to two elements of the project-a striking new visitor center that captures natural light and features two green roofs that absorb rainfall and provide sound and thermal insulation; and a parking facility nestled into a steeply sloped, once-blighted hillside.

They were in the first phase of the Garden’s $55 million expansion, designed to offer visitors new gardens and amenities while emphasizing sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

Almost two months after the BP oil spill began in the Gulf of Mexico, there appears to be no definitive solution for plugging the leak, cleaning up the disaster or paying for the damages.

It seems that every time the estimate of how much oil can be captured each day rises, so does the assessment of how much is leaking. During the first month, the estimate was 5,000 barrels of oil spilling a day. The newest assessments have that number at between 25,000 and 40,000 barrels a day.

Some of the methods BP is proposing to stop the oil spill have not been tested in a laboratory and this alarms experts even more. Any chemicals injected in to the ocean may affect the marine life as well and could have long-term effects that are not known yet. Using these chemicals is more for the benefit of the people and the media so that it just looks like the oil slick is less.

How concerned do we have to be about the long-term health care effect of the oil spill? Consider this excerpt from joint report by researchers at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Royal Oak, Michigan and the Sciencecorps organization in Lexington Mass., which assesses the human health threat of the BP oil spill: “Crude oil contains chemicals that readily penetrate cell walls, damage cell structures, including DNA, and alter the function of the cells and the organs where they are located. Crude oil is toxic, and ingredients can damage every system in the body.”

Oil on beaches is uniquely dangerous to women and children. The stuff can cause deformities, birth defects and endocrine problems in a developing fetus. Newborn babies need to stay away too because their immune systems are weak and crude oil contains lots of contaminates. Even if you aren’t a mommy-to-be or a newborn, we suggest you find a different body of water to hang by, because oil can give anyone cancer and neurological damage.

If a hurricane happens in or near the affected areas, oil will be carried inland via water droplets. Not only is this totally gross, but it will mess up rice and sugar plantations. The oil could also spread to wetlands and even bodies of fresh water.
To effectively address the catastrophe in the Gulf, we need our leaders to remove political bias, carefully examine complex technical processes, and safeguard against wrongs both environmental and economic.

The real question is “Will BP be forced to pay for all the damage done?” This disaster is a least an order of magnitude greater than Exxon Valdez and Prestige. There is more oil in the water, the human population affected is 10’s of millions instead of 10’s of thousands, the property affected is much higher value property. Finally, the oil is still leaking so the problem is still growing. On that basis, the $20 Billions set aside is just a starter. Do I hear $50 Billions ? $100 Billions? Do accidents happen? Yes. Should companies pay for the damage done? Actual damage, Yes. Punitive damage, probably not. And I think that the actual damage will break BP.

We work in the decontamination and bioremediation in Europe and around the world. We have already made tests to clean the Florida’s Everglades of its contamination with satisfactory results. The real problem of oil spillages in the coastal areas, is when the oil spillage reaches the shores, this will damage and destroy the economy of the areas. The engineers and biologists, specialists of our group Mr. Fabrizio Signorelli, Ms. Alessandra Barocci and Mr. Riccardo Rimoldi and others are working to resolve the problem in the best way. Mr. Riccardo Rimoldi came to Miami to measure the situation of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Mr. Rimoldi has many years of experience working in bioremediation.

We propose to clean the areas, the sand and the vegetation “In Site” with Biodegradable Chemicals and Biological Acceptable Products that are Environmentally Friendly to accelerate the process of Biodegradation. To do that we need heavy machinery to mix the products with the soil and sand and a lot of hand labor “In Site”, this way we solve two problems: – The Contamination and the Unemployment in the area. The machinery we propose is to treat the contaminated residual to leave the place clean and in its original condition. The most important is to avoid the necessity to transfer the contaminated material to the chemical landfill.

Taking out the oil from the sea is only a first step, the big problem will be when the oil spill reaches the shores. Based on our experience worldwide, it is fundamental that the persons or that the companies that produce the Biodegradables Chemicals and Biological Acceptable Products that are Environmentally Friendly realize the bioremediations constantly lowers the prices of the products because this is a national necessity.
